Iranian Parliament Speaker who was speaking on the sidelines of a conference in Iran entitled, 'Iran nuclear technology: symbol of national will', said that Iran will take its own decision at the end of the deadline and resume part of its nuclear activities.
Asked about the possibility of discontinuation of talks with the E3 (France, Germany and Britain), he stressed, "we have made no decision to halt the negotiations. We would like to proceed with the negotiations."
In response to a question whether Iran would resume part of its nuclear activities as of 1700 hours Monday, he noted: "the (exact) timing would be subject to technical issues but Iran will not give in to further procrastination (on behalf of EU)."
"We will start (only) part of the activity to prove our good will again and we are ready to continue the talks."
Asked if uranium enrichment would be part of the resumption at this stage, he said part of the activity would be a prelude for enrichment but full enrichment is not on the agenda.
A reporter asked if the EU call for a week-long extension was because they wanted the president-elect to announce his cabinet, the speaker stressed it was upto to the Europeans to say why they have called for the extension.
"There is no ambiguity to be clarified within a few days" he added.
Haddad-Adel urged Europe to adopt a policy independent from the US in its talks with Iran.
"If they want to be influenced by the Americans, they would not achieve any result. The US is opposed to Iran's independence and the nuke issue is just a pretext" he further added.
